Getting Started

Updated: May 5, 2022

I may not like what you have to say but I will support your right to say it and my right to tell you that you are crazy!

Since junior high, I have been helping friends, classmates, and family members make their #voicesheard. I may not like what they had to say, but I supported their right to say it and my right to ignore them, argue with them, tell them they were crazy, turn the channel, or just shake my head wondering where our world was headed.

I believed and still do believe strongly in our #FirstAmendmentRights. You can imagine my shock and outrage when I read about a group of parents who were in essence silenced by OUR GOVERNMENT for speaking out against proposed curriculum and policies at a school board meeting. I was appalled to see the U.S. Attorney General getting involved in a clearly nonfederal matter.

As a mom and someone who has seen the value of parents being involved in education, this was my breaking point. Why were none of the so-called Civil Rights groups jumping in to fight for their rights? Maybe because they were fighting for conservative beliefs? Conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between - we have a right to free speech, freedom of religion, the right to peaceful assembly, and the right to petition the Government. And we should be able to do so without fear of being placed on the Domestic Terrorist Watch List!

I spoke with many people possessing far greater expertise on the issue than I and after much research decided it was time a nonprofit organization focused on litigating first amendment cases that left ignored could result in our rights being carved away - piece by piece without anyone noticing until it was too late!

Help us by spreading the word and letting us know about possible good First Amendment rights cases to litigate.
